Ramaleela Review

Ramaleela was an highly anticipated Malayalam Movie in this year due to many reasons such as Dileep's movie after controversies, A debutant director's struggle to release his debut film, Tomichan's production whose producing after Pulimurugan (11-14 crore was the budget for Ramaleela), Sachy's script after his directorial debut Anarkali, Gopi Sunder's music, etc. were the few reasons that attracts a moviebuff to watch this political thriller movie.
Note:
-> This movie is not a regular Dileep movie. This movie has utilized Dileep as a serious actor.

Plot:
* This movie is about the central character named Ramanunni who was a Communist Party Follower, shifted to NCP due to few reasons. A murder of a leader changes his life drastically and how he resolves it and prove his innocence, follows the crux of the story.

Performance:
* Dileep as Ramanunni and Radhika Sarathkumar as Sakhavu Ragini was best and apt for the movie.. Their portrayal as Son-Mom relation was depicted well.

* Prayaga Martin as Helena was an average performance. Nothing much to do but her role wasn't a clichéd character. Another saving grace for her character was someone dubbed for her. That was good enough. Kalabhavan Shajohn as Thomas Chacko aka TC was fine performance. Siddique's and Vijayaraghavan's portrayal of negative shades were apt. Other actors were fine.

Technical Aspects:
* Direction by Arun Gopy was the best part of this movie. 4-5 years of his hardwork wasn't wasted at all. There were no flaws founded from an usual debutant director, he has done a good homework. There were many director's brilliance and scriptwriter's brilliance were there in this entire movie.

* Script by Sachy was the soul of this movie. He just worked well for the script especially the narrative pace without any lagging was an appreciative effort. Special Mention for the twists of this movie makes different from other political thrillers in Malayalam Movies.

* DoP by Shaji after Pulimurugan was good... Few shots and frames were new and fresh, some were cliché shots too. But that doesn't make us boredom. Each camera angles was fine according to the flow of the screenplay. Especially the scenes which was shown recorded in CCTV Cameras was one of his best works in Ramaleela.

* Music by Gopi Sunder... There are 3 songs in this movie which was apt for movie especially first song but BGM was a letdown for this movie. He should have taken care of it. Main BGM was repeatedly overused in this movie like Pulimurugan, 1971, Take Off, etc. It was fine to a ceratin level.

# Other technical departments were upto to the level.

Final Word: Good movie... Watch it in theaters only... Watch it for Janapriya Nayakan Dileep... This movie is a comeback after his few lame films like Georgettan's Pooram and Welcome to Central Jail.
