The Treatment (International Title) or De Behandeling was a 2014 Belgian crime thriller movie directed by Hans Herbots. This movie was based on the novel "The Treatment" written by Mo Hayder. (adaptated by Carl Joos)

Plot:
* Nick Cafmeyer who had a haunting past of his brother's disappearance, now being an inspector, he's in charge of investigating a case of tortured parents and their missing son. The case somehow interlinks his past and how he's gonna solve the case follows the crux of the story.

Performance:
* Geert Van Rampelberg as the lead role Nick Cafmeyer did justice to his character. Mostly the whole strength of the movie was held under the performance of Geert. And he succeeded in it.

* Ingrid De Vos as Nancy Lammers did his role fine. His role was the kind of John's character, a brief role. But his performance showcased the aggression of the character in a good manner.

* Ina Geerts as Danni Petit, the superior of Nick Cafmeyer did her character apt for the movie.

* Johan van Assche as Ivan Plettinckx was a short role but an important character. Even though the role was short, he succeeded in emoting the antagonism and depicted the urge that made the lead character to investigate, those scenes were good.

* Other actors who were supporting casts did their characters apt for the movie.

Technical Aspects:
* Direction by Hans Herbots did a great job. The precious gem of this movie. He executed the movie that sticks to the genre and the conflict of the movie. The making of the movie made a kind of Hollywood style but was apt for the movie. This movie had many scenes that the spectators could witness the clear vision of a good director. But he could concentrate a bit on the climax portions and some scenes which could possibly reduce a bit of dragging portions.

* Written by Carl Joos (adaptation) did cent percent justice to the novel of the same name which was written by Mo Hayder. But the only negative was that the clarity on the climax scene could have been worked out more better.

* DoP by Frank van den Eeden was one of the positives of this movie. His shots and angles in the movie worked out well and was very cool shots.

* Editing by Philippe Ravoet was also did his job fantastic. His role in making this movie as a edge-of-the-seat thriller had a crucial role too, that was seen well throughout the film.

* Music by Kieran, Melcher and Chrisnanne was fine and did justice to the movie. They concentrated on lower musics that suited well for the movie instead of loud musics that used usually in regular thriller movies.

* Other technical departments like sound mixing and recording, VFX, production designing and rest did their best for the movie.

Final Verdict: The Treatment offers you a slow paced edge-of-the-seat kind of thriller, so watch it. #recommended
