Diwnajimoola Grandprix Movie Review

Divanjimoola Grandprix is a 2018 Malayalam comedy drama movie directed by Anil Radhakrishnan Menon who previously did North 24 Kaatham, Sapthmashree Thaskara and Lord Livingston 7000 Kandi respectively. It starred Kunchacko Boban, Nyla Usha, Siddique, Vinayakan and Nedumudi Venu in prominent roles. Music is handled by Gopi Sunder and Alex J Pullickal does the cinematography.

Plot:

When once a place called Divanjimoola was famous for bike racing which is currently forgotten, Sajan Joseph IAS (Kunchacko Boban), district collector of Thrissur decides to organize the bike racing event. And also the film showcases the life of people in Divanjimoola.

Performance:

* Kunchacko Boban as Sajan Joseph, district collector did his role with ease. Nyla Usha as Effymol did a career best performance in the film.

* Siddique as Jeethandran, a quadriplegic ex-racer again mesmerized with his natural performance and Vinayakan as Vareed steals the show.

* Newcomers who acted in this film has done a good job throughout the film. Other actors did their part apt for the film.

Technical Aspects:

* Story and Direction by Anil Radhakrishnan Menon (Screenplay is done by Prashanth Nair and the director himself) has made a perfect comeback through this film after the failure of Lord Livingston 7000 Kandi. The story was quite realistic, simple and satirical. The direction part was fine. The comedies were natural and weren't force-fitted. The dialogues played a major role to make the film in a realistic manner. 

* DoP by Alex J Pullickal did a praiseworthy job in capturing the beauty of Thrissur and the bike racing part as well.

* Edited by Manoj Kannoth did a good job in making the movie more entertaining and fun.

* Music by Gopi Sunder was average but did an above average composition in background score.

Final Verdict: Divanjimoola Grandprix is a realistic, non-masala, feel good movie. Don't miss it.
