PadMan is a 2018 Hindi biopic drama comedy movie directed by R. Balki and starred Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles. Music is handled by Amit Trivedi and the Script is handled by known actress, columnist and author "Mrs Funnybones" aka Twinkle Khanna. 

NOTE:

(This movie is based on the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, who made low-cost sanitars pads for rural women with simple machines.) 

Plot:

Lakshmikant, who loves his wife Gayatri a lot. When his wife had her menstrual period, he made an innovation. A sanitary pad on lower cost. That changes his life and and then follows the crux of how he becomes a PadMan. 

Performance:

* Akshay Kumar as Lakshmikant Chauhan just rocked with his versatility like his previous outings. He acted with full soul throughout the film. 

* Radhika Apte as Gayatri did a subtle and neat performance as Lakshmi's wife. Her helplessness to understand her husband was well depicted through her character. 

* Sonam Kapoor as Pari, although she had a brief role only from second half onwards. She did a decent performance. 

Technical Aspects:

* Directed by R. Balki was good and was better than his previous outings - Ki and Ka and Shamitabh. 

* Written by Twinkle Khanna and Swanand Kirkire (co-writer) wrote a good story but a bit lengthy screenplay. It could have been shortened a bit. Dialogues were impressive. 

* DoP by veteran PC Sreeram did a great job in capturing the beauty and essence of the places. 

* Music by Amit Trivedi did an above average job and his background scores were impressive as his every composition. 

Final Verdict: PadMan is a logical non-boring biopic of Arunachalam Muruganantham which family can enjoy. It's not an government ad.
