First Trailer:
Performances:
* Brie Larson as Vers / Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel did a good performance in this film. She pulled off her role according to what script demanded. She easily backlashed those trollers who trolled her during the launch of trailers.
* Samuel L. Jackson as younger Nick Fury was quite impressive and gave a "moth******ing" performance (if you say in Sam's style). He was convincing in looking younger through de-ageing processes. His comic timings and dialogue delivery were awesome.
* Ben Mendelsohn as Talos/Keller, the leader of Skrulls was also good especially the scene where he reaches the lab, was so good. Jude Law as Yon-Rogg has nothing to do so much.
* Annette Bening as Dr Wendy Lawson/ Mar-Vell and Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau deserves a special mention as their roles were important and did justice for their characters as well.
A Still from the movie
Brie Larson (left) and a younger Samuel L. Jackson (right) |
* The director duo Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck did a commendable job in directing this Marvel flick. The story premises was so ordinary and the same, but their direction saves the movie, so as the screenplay written by the director duo themselves with Geneva Robertson-Dworet. The movie also concentrates on giving good characterisations to its lead characters especially the protagonist. They have equally shown her strengths and weaknesses and the portrayal of how a woman can domain her strengths without caring any failures or mockings of anyone. Their screenplay also showed the importance of feminism, which is a plus point. Whereas the character sketch of antagonists was so plain and incomplete. Dialogues were witty, funny, meaningful and proper.
* Music by Pinar Toprak was ordinary and okayish for the movie whereas the cinematography and editing did by Ben Davis, and Elliot Graham and Debbie Berman respectively was good for the mood of the movie.
* Other technical departments was standard as regular Marvel movies especially costume designing and VFX.
Final Verdict: Captain Marvel is not just a superhero. She's a superhuman who changes her weaknesses into her strength. It's worth to watch it in theatres. A splendid package to wait till April 26th, for the ENDGAME. Mark your calendars.
