Official Trailer:-

Performances:

* Rajinikanth as Dr. Vaseegaran, Chitti, 2.0 and a surprise package (won't be revealing because it will be a spoiler) was kick-ass. It was so great and much fun watching Rajinikanth on the screen with the more and same charismatic and energetic performance as Chitti, the robot. Meanwhile, the characterisation of Dr. Vaseegaran was so weak. The scenes of Vaseegaran wasn't that great when you compare with the prequel, but anyways, even at this age, he has the same energy, same power to give you goosebumps with his style, his presence and his dialogues.

* Akshay Kumar as Dr. Pakshirajan was the best thing in the film after Rajinikanth. His character was so unique and his performance sometimes scores better than Rajinikanth (until the activation of v2.0). And the birdman avatar was so good. He was the best tit-for-tat guy for Chitti.

* Amy Jackson as Nila, an android humanoid robot, has nothing to do much except giving nil expressions as she's a robot. She just fill the space of a female protagonist in the film.

Technical Aspects:

* Direction by Shankar did a damn good job. His vision took the audience into another world of imagination and the introduction of the unidentified so-called Fifth Force was something in the film. Even though the theme is far beyond imagination, the director yet showed how the usage of smartphone is affecting our surroundings and how are we responsible for that. The 3D visual treat was really kinda bonus for the viewers because you will really get into the world of 2.0. Luckily, unlike previous Shankar films, there aren't any songs as speedbreakers. All the songs are shown kinda in a montage manner. The last forty minutes of the film keeps so so engaging.

* The writing part was so weak in the film. Story and Screenplay by the director himself could concentrate more on the script to get more engaged with many tit-for-tat games amongst Chitti and Birdman. Dialogues by Jeyamohan and the director himself was fine especially the part 'Cuckoo' and Chitti v2.0 saying about Dr. Vaseegaran. If it was done better, the film would be turned way more better. But the most positive thing that worked out was THAT DOESN'T BOTHER US AT ALL, a kinda blend of a perfect entertainer.

* Music by A R Rahman was good. There are total of three songs, and out of that, Pullinangaal and Rajaali stands out. Enthira Logathe Sundariye was average but it's good when it comes into video. The background score is the major plus factor of the film by A R Rahman and Qutub-E-Kripa.

* DoP by Nirav Shah did a fine job. His visuals helped a lot to make audience sync into the 3D and into the world of Shankar's Sci-fi imagination. Anthony's editing was usual crisp and sharp.

* Other technical departments done their job well especially CGI, DI and Sound Departments deserves a mention.

Final Verdict: 2.0 is a perfect entertainer that one should definitely watch it only in 3D because IT'S WORTH WATCHING.

  • NB: There will be a post credit scene post the song. Wait for it...!!!
